Im looking for some info about a 88 xj6 I just purchased. The car seems to be in good shape minus the fact that its been sitting for about 5 months due to a problem with the fuel delivery. I'm pretty sure its the fuel pump, or the filter. I was going to replace both and am not sure as far as the pump goes which type to go with. I would like to do this on the cheap but get a bit of life out of it and not effect the performance. I was quoted a price from the JagShop here in portland for a Bosch model that went for around $280 (forget the #), and $115.99 for a Carter fuel pump from Schucks thats Model#P72033. Thats the one I was going to go with unless theres something else, (up to about $150) that would be better.

Also, because this has been sitting, should I drain the fuel tank and the fuel lines before doing anything as far as starting. Any literature online about doing this?
