hi new to this so here goes
i have a lovely xj40 soverign and it has failed its mot as the abs light has come on all the time. it has only done this for the last couple of weeks. all the sensors have been tested and they r ok. the brakes work fine and the fluid has been changed. the relays and fuses are all working.
anyone any other ideas before i take it and get it plugged in

I haven't had the problem myself, but I recall members having issue with the ABS relay.

i have taken it to a garage today and the whole braking system is working fine including the abs.
the fault code is 21 but this could be anything. the only thing i cannot check is the relay which i cannot find, if it has one at all. i will send vin number and the age is 1992.

Do a search in the XJ40 forum for "ABS relay repair". If memory serves me well, one of the ABS relays (perhaps more, there are three for the ABS system on a 92) develops a crack in a solder joint. The ABS relays for your MY are in the drivers foot-well, according to the Haynes manual I have.
