Battery or something else...
Hello Jaguar forums,
I know i havn't posted anything in so far this year so i just wanted to say i hope all my Jaguar buddys had a Happy New Year!
My 94 VDP hads been great untill today when i went to start the car this evening and it would not turn over. I turn the key and all i hear is a "POP" and nothing... I looked at the battery level gauge and the needle was a little above the "9" (just above the red). However, the radio and all the lights still work? I detailed the engine yesterday and thought i bumped a connection or something but everything seems to but connected fine plus the car ran after i did the detailing. Do you think i should have the car towed to the dealer and have them fix whatever is wrong with it or should i go to AutoZone and put in a new battery? Below i attached a photo of the highest level the gauge will read.
Thanks for your input!

I think it's from a weak battery . I had my battery removed yesterday and will pick it up today .It's currently in the recharching process . Mine was just above 9 as yours . It cranked all the lights worked but no start just a click noise .
Prior to this problem I jump started the car it run but not so easily either

BTW, my battery is 3 yrs old and not a daily driver

Your battery looks to be flat. Why not disconnect it clean the terminals and reconnect.
Same with alternator and starter motor connections.
Course, if it is an old battery then retirement might be on the cards.

Is yours a 1994 also?
No, it's 1993 . Update , I got my battery yesterday and started up instantly as it used to .
I had posted a question about my battery mystery in General Tech Forum as well. I could not get it started with jump starters (Black & Decker) but car to car jump starting procedure worked
