Default Brake light on, fuse blown, FAIL VCM code

Good day to all. I am a new member, ..need some assist with my XJ6 90 Sovereign. This was given to me by a fellow veteran and I like it so much , it has 203,000 miles on the counter and still runs great.

Recently, I lost the braking and ABS system, no brakes at all. Make some research on the subject and had done the following ;

Replace accumulator ball with new one and all three relays.
Bled the brakes on all tires, it is very goldish in color.
Cleaned ABS sensors, ..the front is severely dirty, the rear is clean.
Replace two (2) 30 amp fuse under the dash.
Replace all brake pads, front and rear although the existing ones are still within specs. Replace battery with 750 CCA, charging system test excellent at 14.2 volts with no load and 13.8 with load.

Braking was finally restored but brakes light is on and I kept blowing one of the 30 amp fuse. At this condition, ..the brakes still work. Is it safe to use the car for my daily commute to work ? Also, ..I noticed that when I step on the brakes at the stop sign or intersections, my voltage reading dropped at the dash board, ..lights start to go dimmed., ..car's idling speed stay at 700 rpm.

I suspect that I have some short somewhere but doesn't know how to find it.

Need your advice and expertise please...

Problem solved. Found abs pump going south, absorbing most of the voltage when brakes is applied. Replace abs pump from a european junk yard, test good. Now I am back on the road, ..no more voltage drop and blown 30 amp fuse. My kitty works like new.

Well done, how did you diagnose it ? I'm a bit surprised no one jumped in to help but, you had the satisfaction of remedying it alone.......Roger.

Roger and Midwest Jag, ...thanks much for your heartwarming response. I was about to turn this kitty into a white elephant but she's so pretty to get rid off. I am a little bit disgusted, ..experts left me stranded in the middle of nowhere. I was trained in the military that no men should be left behind, ..I guess I was definitely wrong in assuming on this situation. No hurt feelings, ..I will take it head on.

But resourcefulness and attention to details pay its price, ...self satisfaction ! Now, all we have to do is to share the wealth of knowledge so that others can benefit from it.
