A/C compressor bypass?
My A/C compressor is squealing like a pig and I don't use or like A/C. Since I live in the cold country and need heat, but not cool air...would it harm anything to bypass the A/C compressor? Figured there must be some way to maintain heat coming out of the vents, but lose cool A/C. My luck they're probably too interconnected...
If so, how? Searched prior posts, but couldn't find a related link. Thanks!

Thats what I was wanting to know. Will it pose a problem for anything if I bypass the compressor (by removing the belt)? I want the heater to work and I will fix the compressor issue later, when it warms up next Summer.
He probably..
removed the clutch relay----OR
pressed the ECON button to shut the compressor OFF---OR
disconnected the belt
OR>>>>>>>>
the clutch fuse blew
the belt finally melted and fell off from the compressor locked up
bob gauff

Kind of embarrassing, but I thought there was only two belts when I initially tightened them. I looked again and tightened the third belt, which cured the noise... I hadn't referred to the Haynes manual and had a "couple" of beers that day... Is there a drunk smiley face?
