Changing Headlight bulbs in 1990 XJ40
Hi There,
I have searched quite extensively for some info to no avail.
I had my left headlight bulb blow last night. I am looking at replacing it. It would be great if I could get some help on the type of bulb I need and also how to replace it.
Regards,
Logan

I replaced the headlight globes in my XJ40 when I owned it a couple years back they are just an over the counter H4 globes
I removed the complete lights as one of them got cracked by a rock when I went to my local jag wreckers up here in Brisbane I went through heaps of lights before finding one with the reflector not to yellowed
They are Sev marchal made in France if I remember when I pulled both lights out I washed the interior of the light with warm water and dish washing detergent and a bottle brush to clean the reflectors then in the sun to dry what water was left I used the missus hair-dryer to dry them out completely I also went for Philips night vision globes Car Bulbs, Headlights, Xenon Bulbs | Philips & Osram | PowerBulbs
I have also done the same thing to my X300 XJR the lights are now super bright and the lenses are clear again its a bit of tinkering but well worth the effort
