Saw that. The same car in England would be 5-6 thousand pounds so I think it's a little over priced...

Very rare and desirable.

Here's the model launch brochure:

I would classify it as cheap myself. A unique supercar limousine. Should be 50k

No argument that it's a unique and rare vehicle, but at the end of the day it's still an XJ40 and for $20K you can buy an X308 XJR...regular XJ40's are in the $5-8K bracket, it will never sell for $20K...

The first Chasseur has been up for sale for some time in the UK - open to offers:

Chasseur Stealth no.1: English

It's in typical UK condition - severely rusted!

Another in very good condition was recently listed on Gumtree in the UK but looks as if it has sold:

At £4450 and under 25K miles, I'm not surprised.

I'm not trying to justify the asking price, but when you've got one of these in good shape you can basically ask whatever you want for it - in time the market WILL pay the shot. In any case, the XJ40 is a way cooler car than an X308 or XJR - and these Stealth Chasseur especially so.

Keep in mind the 40 will be remembered long after the generic later models have been tossed aside.

It is the last of the "real" Jags, after all.

Default Twin turbo

Have to agree with Larry,Coach built is the way to go.With very little effort these cars can be kept in good shape with a small amount of maintaining from the average enthusiast.

In fact just buying one of these cars will create an enthusiast!
As a newly minted fan I would LOVE the chance to even see a turbo AJ6 engine!
Alas,20 grand is out of my budget. These cars are gettable around here for the 1 to 5 grand money, all day long.
In fact my REDD is for sale at 2900,just to see if there is much interest.
None so far.
I would HAVE to replace it with an XJS v12......
They can be had for 2500 to 6000,so do-able.

Cheers as usual,Jim

I would love to own one of these. I really like the look and feel of the XJ40 and would love the extra power.

I turbocharged my last car, a Volvo 240 and it made it so much fun to drive. But I know performing this kind of upgrade to an XJ6 would be a real challenge.
