Default Dome light, switch?

Isn't the dimmer knob supposed to turn on the dome light at full counterclockwise when you hit the detent "click"? Dome is obviously controlled by the cpu. The door switches light up the dome correctly. If not, where is the on switch?

I think the dimmer knob is only for the dash lights. The dome and map lights are each controlled by their own rocker switch in the row of 4 above the radio in the center console.

Ah Ha! Seeing as I was intalling a new head unit, that console was sitting aside whilst I routed wires in the setting sun, only to be overcome by darkness. That's when 40 years of wrenching muscle memory kicked in, "click the dimmer on...". Thank you Jerry! Now I know what the strange little rotating thingie in the middle is too! Many thanks to the owners guide for NOT making that operation abundantly clear. But hey, I did learn the sunroof has some "half cocked" switch that supposedly reduces wind turbulence noise which I'm sure will contribute some meager fraction of a percentage point to the SQ of the overthought but underbudgeted 4 way active system I'm cobbling together out of clearance sale components.
