The driver seat in my 1988 Vanden Plas rocks forward when I brake, and backward when I accelerate. The rail bolts are secure to the floor. It's not a huge problem, but I was wondering if anyone has any easy fix?
If the bolts that anchor the seat to the floor pan are tight and secure then another point of concern might be where the seat back frame attaches to the seat track. If you remove the seat cushion, you will see 4 torx (T40) bolts that secure the seat back frame to the seat track. There should be 4 thick washer/spacers in between the frame bottom and the track. Great looking car. I wish my BBS wheels looked like yours (life in MI...salt..snow).
Ernst, you only need to remove a single screw on the bottom front end of the seat cushion to remove it. Ingenious design.
Our '93 front seats had two screws along the front edge. I don't know if this was a model year difference or that the VDP seats were different. You can just make out the screws in this photo:
