Default Duck bill fell off - Is it necessary?

The drain tube refered to as the duck bill fell off. Is it okay to leave it that way?

Default Engine Bay Fumes

The duckbill is there to let rainwater out of the blower intake area, while not letting fumes into the cabin from the engine bay.

The car will work fine without it,but I feel better knowing it's there.

Cheers,Jim.

Hi supra-raleigh,

The duckbill tends to plug up with leaves and other debris, causing water to pool and eventually spill into the passenger compartment, so many owners (myself included) have intentionally removed the duckbill. You are better off without it!

Cheers,

Don
