ECU compatibility
My 1992 Vanden Plas V12 needs a new ECU, I can find one online with the identical part number DAC 6335 84562H but is for a 1989, the only difference is the build date. Would this work in my car without reprogramming it. Thanks
Ill just throw this out since no one more educated has replied yet. I think that it would work. I think so because despite the computers being on the car, they arent That complex. I also think that the last 6 on the ECU's part # is the most important part- the 84562H should be the series (for lack of a better word) number for that particular unit, and not the more general "ECU" part number. By the way, is your car a Series 3 car and not an xj40? Just checking, Im honestly curious. Sorry for the delay.

Theres a sticky at the top of this section titled "Which xj6 do I have?" which explains it. I asked because I dont think the xj40 got the v12 until 93 after Jaguar changed the engine bay to make it fit. At the same time- until 92 they were still building the Series 3 cars as v12's (I think) exclusively. They are very different cars. Post us some pics if you can, wed like to see it anyway.
