ECU compatability
My 1992 Vanden Plas V12 needs a new ECU, I can find one online with the identical part number DAC 6335 84562H but is for a 1989, the only difference is the build date. Would this work in my car without reprogramming it. Thanks
Hi there your XJ is actually referred to as an XJ40, this section is for XJ6 & XJ12 series I II & III.
for help just follow this link…https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj40-xj81-25/
When time permits post an introduction in the new members area…good luck!

I can't think of any reason there would be a problem.

A '92 VDP V12 would still be a Series III !

Yes, that unit will work on your 1992 model….that car does not have the bevy of electronic nannies that the later designs do. And what number/100 is your car? (The V12 VDP was a Canada-only model and for 1992 only 100 were built).
Great thanks. It’s #85 if I remember correctly, car is new to me and I’m not near it to check. Out of curiosity would an ECU with different part number also work, just in case this one doesn’t work.

Ah…well, an ECU with a different part number may be a different animal. What is making you think the ECU is defective? An issue with the V12 ECU is super-rare.
