Yes, there is a relay and fan switch to signal the motor to run. More than likely it's one of those and not the fan motor. Test to see if the fan is getting power when you are in the overheating situation.

You may also be looking at a fan clutch. This is yet another possibility.

I forgot you have a 93 model. (Yeah, I know it's right there on everyone of your posts.) The 93 and up models do not have a fan clutch. I will have to check the location on the switch. I believe it screws into the radiator, but not sure.
