hi there,
our 1992 4.0 i sovereign 45.000 km looses very little oil from the front end, right hand side of the engine, seems that the oil comes from one of the sealings there, which one could it be?

what have i to change?

WITH OUT SEEING IT MYSELF IT COULD BE:
A: VALVE COVER GASKET
B: TIMING CHAIN TENSTIONER GASKET
C:HEAD GASKET

THE FIRST 2 ARE RELETAVLY CHEAP FIXES THE LAST ON IS A LITTLE COSTLY.

 

I see you 'forgot' your wallet when you filled the tanks to the brim then!?!

 

I had the same problem on the same side.
Bought and replaced the complete Valve (Cam) Cover Gasket kit and solved the problem rather easily. It seems in the older Cars the gasket becomes hardened and very brittle until it breaks and begins to leak profusely. A simple job that took me about 45 minutes.
The next issue to arise is the PCV Breather hose that is connected to the Valve Cover, it also gets old and brittle, making it impossible to re-use after the connection crumbled away upon removal of the hose clamp keeping it in place.
I used a pvc "L" connector and a short piece of hose for a temporary fix.
