I have a good running 88 VDP (semi decent interior) w/154000 miles on it, so I have purchased a 94 VDP w/87000 miles, that is damaged on the left front (lady spun out on ice & hit the concert barrier), it has a great interior, so going to swap that out w/my 88.....now I'm wondering since the motor and tranny in the 94 is still running and shifting good (I've just driven it around the block not far) will the motor trans fit in the 88 as a even swap or is it more complicated than that?

 

This can be done,but the ecms are different as are many of the electrical connections. It might be easier fixing the 94 if the damage is not too severe.

 

i would certainly recommend fixing the 94 with what you can off of your 88 or even better get pieces from a salvage yard, it will be a much better car in the long run and surely less expensive/time consuming than an engine and interior swap.
