Default Fuel injector filters (micro screen)

Can anyone provide a sources and/or size for AJ6 fuel injector filters (micro screens)?
I'm so far into my 30 year service that I'd like to service the fuel injectors including changing the filters.

Thanks,
Roger

In the past I have found seal and filter kits on eBay. You're looking for Bosch injector kits. See the listings below for the kind of parts you need. It would be worth contacting the sellers to see if they can confirm their kits fit your injectors. As far as I recall, all the 4.0L XJ40 and X300 injectors use the same size O-rings and filters: The injectors have Bosch part numbers on one side and Lucas part numbers on the other.

In my photo albums at Jag-Lovers I show how I devised a means of cleaning the injectors under pressure using Techron fuel injector concentrate, compressed air, and a switched 12 volt power source. The large images probably are still not moved to the new server, but the thumbnails and descriptions should be there.

Cheers,

Don

Thank you Don, I remember your photo album and couldn't get into the Jag-Lovers old site tonight for some reason...?
I've only had one problem with my service; I bought a new fuel return hose and the seal inside the fitting is missing!
So...I have some Earl's conical seals on the way. If one of those doesn't work I'll probably use the old hose or buy another
new return hose,

Regards,
Roger

Don; do you remember the size of the filters you used?

Thanks,
Roger

I never measured them, but at the time I bought them an eBay seller was offering sets specifically for my car, the 1993 XJ6. I just held a new filter up to an old one to confirm the sizes were the same. I am almost positive that the same filters will fit the earlier 4.0L injectors. I think one of the links I posted earlier was for an eBay listing for '93-'94 injector filters & O-rings. I'd be surprised if they won't fit your injectors.

Here are links to my fuel injector service albums:

Fuel Injector Cleaning, Filters & O-Rings - Part 1 of 2
Fuel Injector Cleaning, Filters & O-Rings - Part 2 of 2

Sorry the large images still haven't been transferred to the "new" servers at Jag-Lovers.

Cheers,

Don

Roger,

I remembered that I had posted info about various fuel injector part numbers and I found it in Part 2 of this series. You can see that all the injectors for '90-'92, '93-'94, and X300 N/A and S/C engines are the same physical size and configuration:

Fuel Rail Overhaul - Part 1 of 3
Fuel Rail Overhaul - Part 2 of 3
Fuel Rail Overhaul - Part 3 of 3

Cheers,

Don

I am plotting an injector adventure myself and your thread intrigued me. I found this page; https://injector-rehab.com/product/b...filter-basket/ which shows (i think) the screens available separately for whatever that is worth at this point. If you scroll down the page it appears to indicate that all screens for those style injectors are same (And for my project, also the same for the 5.3 v12). Another "What is he doing Now?" project...
As always, just throwing it out there. Good luck.

Hi Jerry, changing the filter screens is not difficult, though they may come out in one, multiple pieces or not at all and have to be dug out.
I made a quick stop at the Lowes hardware aisle, bought a small bag of 8 pcs. of 8-32 X 1-1/4 hanger screws, a 1X1/4 inch pc. of brass tube and
small bag of 8-32 wing nuts. In my tool chests I had a 6" length of 9/16 brass rod a pick and a small electronics screw driver. As you move through the process
you'll figure it. Again it is not difficult.

Good luck.
Roger
