Fuel Pump Wiring Problem

I have a 1993 XJ6 4L, with a fuel problem. I thought it was a bad pump, which it still might be, but the wiring connectors look to have shorted out. I can't find the old connectors and I'm told Jaguar had problems, but I can't find the replacements.

Vaultman, I don't know your year XJ6 really well, so, I ask this, is the plug for the fuel pump built into the pump, or is the connector on the end of a few inches of wire? If the connector is built into the pump, this doesn't leave a lot of options and unfortunately, most of them are going to involve a lot of let work attempting to find a few pins that can be put into the old plug housing to make things better. Then to electrically insulate the connections, you may end up having to use some clear silicon or the like.
If the plug is on the end of some wires, what i would recommend is stopping by a boating store (West Marine, Boater's World, etc) and checking out their plugs. They have a large selection of water proof plugs that you can pick up that will outlast the car. Yes they will cost you more than say a simple nylon plug from Radio Shack, but these will easily outlast the car, unlike the ones from Radio Shack.
If you need some more ideas, let me know. I have done a lot of wiring stuff with both vehicles and boats. So, there are a lot of options for you as long as things are on the end of wires.

Are you looking for the link lead between the wiring harness and the evaporative loss flange on the outside of the tank? Where is it burned? Thermo has a good idea there is it's just a wiring end.
If it's the connector I'm thinking of.......a 2 pin connector in front of the fuel tank near the battery......cut the connector off and solder it together permanently. Very common for this connection to burn. We got rid of the connection altogether. In 93 I believe the only wires up to the pump were those two, I believe one was black (ground) and the other was blue with a red tracer (12v). A thick set of wires through a big black 2 pin connection, IIRC. Say 14 gauge wire? Maybe? Yeah, get rid of it even if it's not burned, because it WILL eventually burn.
