FYI For A Synthetic Oil Change
Had one done today at the local VW dealer. Why? Because I know the parts person and got a 20% discount on everything! That's why.
Anyhow I found out the my 1994 XJ12 takes near 11 quarts to fill up. I had them use Castrol 5-20 synthetic oil. The cost with the discount was 81.00...without it would have been around 102.00 give or take. And I picked up the filter at a local parts store ahead of time to avoid the mark-up at the shop so actual total for everything was 92.00.
I don't like to work on cars anymore so I pay people to do it which can be good and bad (right motormouth???) so...
Oh, also they told me next time I visit the Jag dealer to pick up spare washers for the drain plug for it was hard for them to find a good fit...my car was missing it all together! That way next time I have a nice new washer ready to go :-)
peace out,

Since synhts oil pretty priceful (I would not like to use "expensive" lol ) it would take you more drain distance .
For ex: 20W50 should be changed every 5K kilometers but 10W60 takes you up to 12,500 Kms for same car .
Once you pay more for synts per "bottle" but in long run it would be cheaper to maintain
