Default Help Finding Brake Booster Adapter (to fill it)

I need an adapter to add mineral oil to the brake booster reservoir - in the past I had & used a Castrol mineral oil bottle w/ plastic tube & adapter that was inserted into the reservoir and twisted to lock it in. The bottle was squeezed to force the oil in. I need the adaptor or just a bottle of oil w/ the adapter attached. I've only found very expensive options on-line. Any help will be appreciated.

Welcome to the forums jgause0000,

I've concluded from the question that you have an XJ40 (XJ6 1986-1994) and moved your question from General Tech Help to XJ40 forum. Members here with the same model will be able to help.

Please follow this link New Member Area - Intro a MUST - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum to the New Member Area - Intro a MUST forum and post some information about yourself and your vehicle for all members to see. In return you'll get a proper welcome and some useful advice about posting to the forum.

Hi jgause0000,

Welcome to the Jaguar Forums! It's great to have you with us.

A couple of possible solutions come to mind. One is that if you replace the oil in your differential (something you should do if it hasn't been done in a while), and if you use a high-quality product like Lucas gear oil, you can clean and save one bottle and tip specifically for use with HSMO:

Another solution might be a syringe with a tube small enough to fit into the opening of the HSMO reservoir opening. There are a lot of options on eBay if you search "syringe with tube."

The ones I keep in my shop for multiple uses are a little more expensive but they are of very nice quality and easily cleaned and reused long-term. Here's a photo and sample eBay listing:

Cheers,

Don
