could they have gotten unplugged at some point? Youd need to remove the rear seat to know that, I think... Id check the bulbs first although I cant imagine That bulb getting used up.

It sent too soon, sorry. The bulb in mine is Definitely used up but it's easy to get at- the wire lead is only about 6" long so maybe if the headliner was redone, they neglected to plug it back in? Go with the bulb thing first.

Excellent. Another easy fix. The old adage for lights not working is "check the bulb first."

Hi, Im going back to this thread because I have finally started adding the interior of a parts car that I stripped into my 94. I have installed the higher trim level E-post trims and got the reading lamps working but I have misplaced the screw or what ever retainer it is supposed to have on the back side. There is a rubber female gripper in the E-post itself so I assume its a plastic prongy thing. Can someone post a pic of this item please?
Also the number of that bulb is 233. It is available but it is also the same (according to the owners manual) as the side marker lamps in the bumper.

Hello again. I have gotten back around to these lights on my deep dive into the interior. I did the unthinkable and (gasp!) Looked at the grommetty things that the lights mount to. I concluded that they are deep "captive nuts" and that it just takes a longer slightly wider screw than I had imagined. Why they are deep like this is a mystery to me, but I'm sure there was some reason at the time. It also explains why I dont remember how I removed them.
the phosphored screws are what I had intended to use, but the grayish one is the one that worked. It may be 1-1/2

And now you know. The rest. Of the story. Good day?
