Default Help I have a 89 xj6 cranks but wont run

I have a 89 xj6 3.6 that cranks but won't run. It has spark to
spark plugs and fuel sprays out of injectors. I put #1 cyl up and
rotor is pointing at #1 on cap. Has 160 psi cranking comp.
Took valve cover off and looked on too. Droped exhaust off
Manifold to make sure cats were not pluged. Even sprayed
ether at it with no pop or anything.
What am I missing?

Have you checked the crankshaft position sensor? I remember that seems to be a common source of a non-start scenario. I can't remember, though, whether the injectors fire if the CPS isn't sending a signal… which might rule it out.

Tried a crank sensor and coil and ign module. Fuel psi is good.

Welcome to the forum, you should go introduce yourself in the new member area. After 9 or 10 posts you can use the search engine within the XJ40 section that will surely help you with your issue, it's nothing none of us have not been through before.

Are you a new Jag owner?

Siphon some of the gas out and smell it and feel it. These cars are notorious for have water in the tank due to the design of the filler area.

You may have spark but did you get a voltage reading from the output of the coil?

I suggest you buy the Haynes repair manual for this series Jag, tons of useful information in there and along with this forum you can get all you need.
