I am reassembling my 1994 XJ6 and while putting things back together I found a loose vacuum line under the intake.
This vacuum line according to the diagram shown below, There is a one way valve shown in the diagram as item 14.
The hose I have found should lead from this item 14 to the Tee, item 19. I cannot locate the T and I do not know where on the intake this should eventually make a connection.
Can someone give me some hints here about this?

I once checked that out for someone and posted it at Jag-Lovers. Unfortunately the large images are still not working, but from my description that Tee should be under the fuel pressure regulator:

Hmm, I do not have a Tee below the fuel pressure regulator.
Do you mean on the underside of the intake manifold?
Or is this Tee supposed to connect to one of the vacuum ports that exist between the intake runners for cylinders 1 and 2 ?

 

Pretty sure that's it, on top of the intake - between ...

if you haven't sorted it out I'll take a pic of my layout tomorrow

As the diagram indicates, the vacuum hose connects to the intake manifold somewhere. According to my notes, I found the Tee somewhere below the fuel pressure regulator. If you have vacuum ports between the #1 and #2 runners, that would be a logical place for the hose to connect.

Hopefully Larry will have time to take a pic or two of his setup.

I haven't been out to the car yet, but Don is correct, the vacuum take-off is on top of the manifold, between the cylinders 1 and 2 intake, just below the fuel pressure regulator.

You can almost see the tee in this (old) photo of a '94 engine [my parts car]

The tee shown in diagram above, (#16), shows *TWO* connections, a short L-shaped hose (#20) that joins the manifold port and the longer hose (#17) emanating from the one-way valve (#14).
The *THIRD* connection is the striped vacuum hose that connects to the fuel pressure regulator.

There are two vacuum ports under the fuel pressure regulator and I have hoses on both of them.
I guess one or both of them is supposed to have a Tee connected so multiple things can be supplied with vacuum.

Ok, yes indeed two ports, memory not what it used to be - here's the pic from my car - I replaced the plastic tee with a brass "y" but effect is the same - the left port is the connection for the FPR and the right takes the small L-hose that connects to the tee ...



so I guess you are missing a tee union that's why you have a spare "end"

Yeah, I have no Tee or Y there. The vacuum line for the FPR just connects directly to the port on the intake.
