Help'93 VDP failed emissions
Hi all, Fedex messed up the transport of the sensor, then mislead me as to when the error would be righted. Then followed a medical problem so, now I'm looking to retest on Thursday or Friday.......Roger.
Hi all, OK, despite the mechanic and the guy at the test station, saying it would make no difference, I had the heated O2 sensor replaced. The old one looked fine so, with some trepidation, I took it in for the retest today. Voila !The NOX's were back to zero and the HO's were down from 89 and 38, to 47 and 29. That's against an average of 55 and 31 and an allowable 80 and 45 ! All's well that ends well...Thanks for the help.......Roger.
Hi Joe, Thanks. One thing though. Didn't discover until I got to AAA in Culver City, the gas tank flap wasn't seated properly, the filler cap wouldn't tighten down. The guy had obviously done something to it. I phoned the boss, who was at another location and, he told me this can happen with Jaguar caps, as something goes wrong when they are taken off the machine and, to bring it over to him to be put right. I'd never heard of this before, have you ?........Roger.
Hey Roger. I've been doing smogs longer than I care to admit and I've never heard of that. I know that in California your year Jag only requires a visual inspection of the gas cap. No Functional test of the cap on the machine. Hope you get it resolved. Happy Holidays. Merry Christmas.
Hi Joe, Ouch, really ! He obviously doesn't know that. I went back, yesterday, for him to fix it. He couldn't. So he's getting a replacement. I have a temporary one at the moment. I wish I could bring it to you. Anyway, a very merry Christmas to you........Roger.
