Default Lucas to Bosch?

I am considering inspection and purchase of a 1994 XJ6. I've seen the car but haven't yet been able to drive it or inspect it under the bonnet. I've heard that Lucas was replaced as the primary supplier of electrical parts to Jaguar by Bosch. Is that true? If so, is there a VIN number when Bosch electrics were bugun to be installed?

Gee....it's been a blend of Lucas and Bosch since at least the late 70s-early 80s. There's no firm changeover point that I've ever heard of, FWIW. I think my '95 may still have some Lucas stuff in it....although it looks like mostly Bosch and Nippondenso so far.

Cheers
DD
