Default Mystery Part on my 89 XJ6 Vonden Plas

Just got my 89 XJ6 Vonden Plas a few weeks ago. Plowing through it fixing all the little problems. But I stumbled upon this under my hood. Can you tell me what this mystery part is? Looks like it should connect to something but I don’t see anything nearby that has a loose connector.

Okay so if I did the picture upload thing correctly .....
Pic 1 shows the driver side, engine compartment and this Mystery Part is in that corner.
Pic 2 Shows my a closer view of that area
Pic 3 shows the mystery part.

I have the same connector on both my 1990 and 1993 xj6s. I have seen it on other jags also. I think it might be for some type of accessory or electrical part for vehicles sold in different countrys. I know the cars sent to canada have some different specs than usa models.

I have the same thing on my 1990 XJ6 Sovereign. I have no idea what it's for.

You've got to remember that this is a British car, and that little socket is probably the most important connector for the dealer service department.

The JTIS connector more commonly known as the....

Jaguar Teasmaid Insertion Socket,

the first thing to be plugged in by any self-respecting tech or home mechanic.
