Default Need some help !!

Hey everyone I have a 1991 xj40 4L 6cyl been rubuilding having fun but unfortunately I've found a problem that I'm stumped on. I have movement on my rear right drive shaft into my diff, I can push and pull it out about an inch. It doesn't seem to be the ball joint as that is moving with the drive shaft.
Any help would be much appreciated on what I need to do !

Thanks JJ

The output stub axle shaft 'deep-groove' bearing has failed.
Plenty of info on this forum on the repair.

Thanks For your help I'll look into.
I've also got another problem my rear right hub can be rocked from side to side by about 1cm, it seems to be moving on the bolt that attaches it to the control arm even though everything is tight, if that makes sense ?

There are bearings in the lower control arm/hub fulcrum that need replacing. The rollers tend to 'rock' without 'spinning' so the load concentrates and wears grooves in the race.

Keep track of the spacer and shims in the distance tube between the bearings. Some people discard the shims because they get lost in the grease or stuck on parts . They only realize the missing parts when the bearing preload is wrong and the parts fail soon after replacement.
