yup those door handles can be a dandy cant they?? lol. I went through hell with my driver door multiple times and have had to replace passenger side as well. You're right though that crappy plastic mechanism they use is what screwed up mine too, not to mention I belive the door handles are made out of something called "pot metal" which were very very prone to break. Have you tried ebay motors yet trying to find used one maybe? Best bet would prolly be buying a new one though from the place where I get all my Jag part...Welsh Enterprise in Ohio, all Jaguar. Or from Ken who is on here somewhere and could without a doubt get ya some parts down in good ol' Texas!
