Default Oil pressure sender 4.0 and 3.2

Does anyone know if there is any difference between the oil pressure sender on an XJ40 4.0 and 3.2? i need to change the one on my 4.0 and my friend with a 3.2 has a spare one.

The two parts are the same and interchangeable - just make sure the new one works as well - the part is notoriously unreliable!

Jaguar replaced the original sender with part JLM20791 which is just capable of recording that there is oil pressure, and not what level that pressure might be.

This "oil pressure switch and link lead" is listed as the same part for both the 3.2 and the 4.0 litre engines.

It is the later X300 part and will register the level at the middle of the dial to display that there is oil pressure in the engine - it will not display the actual oil pressure measurement like the original part.

Jaguar XJ40 part numbers are available on the JDHT website -

http://www.jaguarclassicparts.com/html/JCPHomePage.html

Unfortunately it is not an easy website to use.

Hope this helps,

David

by interchangeable, you mean they have universal function and measurements? Ive seen some oil pressure switch and link lead that looks nothing similar.
