Oversized Pistons for 3.6L
Is it true that oversized pistons are not available for the 3.6L AJ6 engines?
Looking for some details for a rebuild that may not happen...

That is what I found out a long time ago.
Apparently the pistons are mated to the block/bore, and that's it.
Same with the AJ16.
Rings are available if you hunt around.
I work in aftermarket hards parts, and find this quite bizzare.

I heard the same thing as Grant.
I would think however, that one may be able to duplicate factory practices quite closely with some research, careful measurement and skilled machining and assembly. To be sure it would cost more but then again...
I've never seen the bottom end on an AJ6/AJ16 wear out. To be sure some fellows have rebuilt cylinder heads but have never needed to do the bottom end. And there are many, many good used engines available at cheap prices that can be put right back into service.
