Default Pinion nut

Hi,
I need to replace the pinion oil seal in my xj40 diff due to an oil leak. From what I've read in the Haynes manual and various posts on this forum, I need to mark the pinion nut, flange and shaft, and then realign everything on assembly. On inspection of my diff, the pinion nut appears to be damaged at the side - see attached pic. Will I required a new nut?
Thanks
Pete

The nut is NOT DAMAGED!!!!!!!!

It is STAKED IN PLACE.

Please return the nut to the same rotational location to maintain 'preload' as setup by the factory.
