Hi, i have a cd player that was put in by the previous owner and now the ariel does not go up and down, and i would like to know, what wires should be going to the battery. At the moment i have a red wire which as i understand is the radio and cd player and which at the moment is not attached as the garage done some work on my car today and forgot to attach it.

But this red wire is on the negative side of the battery which is strange (hope it is the radio as not sure what it is), also there is a white wire that looks like it has been cut that is near the battery but not to near, and i am not sure what this is for.

Could anyone please let me know, my car is a 1989 xj40 and i would love to get the airel working again.

Also for some strange reason, the radio in the car, sometimes it picks up stations but most of the time it does not and i have to use the cd player, can anyone let me know why this may be please

 

Intown, if the aerial is not up, stations will be difficult to pick up.

How about a pic of your wiring you are talking about. That would help.
