Radio Woes
So my old radio finally ate it. It worked intermitently in it's final 1.5 years of life and the display on it was always blank or half readable.
I found an reconditioned radio on ebay with a warranty for 35 bucks so I jumped on it. I came home and took the old radio out which looked to have had some work done to it such as leads spliced into the power to the radio and also a lead spliced into the braded ground wire.
My new radio had a splice on the positive power lead but the radio worked without it so I taped it up and installed it. No sooner do I get the last screw back in the console and my new antenna mast installed that I go to sit in the passengers seat with a beer and enjoy my new radio in all it's glory to see that dreded partial display again.
The radio still works although it can't find any stations on it's own and has somewhat fuzzy quality even for the areas clearest of stations. Is this an issue because I did not hook up what seems to be an auxilary power lead to the radio or might there be something else lurking around.
