Ready to throw in the towel
I will still be lurking, just not as an owner anymore. This is a great site and the people here are one of the best I've come across. Who knows what the future brings. I always run into cars so maybe one day another Jag will cross my path. This time I will be more prepared and aware of what to look for.
I agree on owning the Spider, its one of those cars you just need to own at some point. I was asked to show it at the the New Hope PA car show this coming weekend with it (Aug 14th). Should be a fun event.
As requested, the Alfa pics

If your car is an early model, look under the wheel arch driver's side for a sphere and an alloy casting with two valves... this sphere is a nitrogen charged cylinder which has a perforated diaphragm and is filling up with fluid, hence no leak. the two valves control the pressure, the one with the green/black wire is the one often found defective, not allowing the system to charge . red fluid is not good in this system, and must be flushed and green fluid used IF the system is as I describe.
