Scanned copy of 1990-1992 4.0 Saloon Owner's Handbook
The one thing that always amazes me when I open up the XJ40 handbook is how fantastic the illustrations are! I've read a LOT of owner's manuals over the years -- I was the kid everyone gave their manual to when they bought a new car. I loved learning about all the different features! -- and I've never seen another that describes bulb replacement at such an in depth level, giving very clear color illustrations and directions. Illustrations of the undercarriage for lubricating the axle shaft joints! Removing the coolant drain in the block!? Look at those drive belt adjustment illustrations! Absolutely unlike anything I've ever seen...
So with that out of the way, here's a link for a PDF copy of the manual in Full High Quality, and another in Reduced file size.
The copy in my glove box is a greyscale one. This beautiful color one had a bad binding and suffered water/mildew damage from being in an XJ40 trunk for a year. I cut up the binding and scanned it in using the ADF. Bear in mind it's not perfect, but it'll get you by if you don't have one.
Hope you enjoy the reading. EDIT: Forgot to mention, the text is also fully searchable!

I agree. There is some great art in that handbook. I am fortunate to have the original and try to keep it safe. There is also an excellent listing of fuses and lube points . I haven't looked at it in some time , but found a 93 book at my junkyard for my 94 . I recall being dismayed at the lack of info by comparison.
