Check the auto trader or similar used car sites in your area and see what they'reselling for. There are a lot of variable factors for used prices including geographic area, competition, and of course the condition of the car... something no one here can see or evaluate, so your question is somewhat redundant. Because we love our Jags, we tend to be biased in any case. Anything is,after all is said and done only worth what one is willing to pay for it. Your question is somewhat confusing since none of the cars quoted are an 88 VDP v12??? What are you asking? Are you buying or selling? That itself makes a huge difference as we all tend to want a deal and get as much as we can when selling. Value is relative as for bank loans your car doesn't exist, and for insurance it would have little or no value either. Mine is under $300.00 a year and that is for liability not the car itself. I have seen several nice looking Jaguars from 1986 - 1990ish gor for under a thousand dollars. I recenlty bought my XJ40 a 1993 in excellent mechanical, average body and interior for $4500.00 cdn and felt I got a good deal although I likely paid to much. That being said. I would not consider selling my cat for anything under $6500.00 and having ventured that ,it is not forsale, nor likely to be considered so for a long long time. Looks likeyour dad should knowa little about the cost of keeping a Jag, so I won't go into the woes of early 80's Jags or V12's.
Whatever you buy the V12 for it will pale in comparison to your first repair bill.
