As the title says, the shifter works both with and without the key in the ignition.
There should be a shift lock to prevent this. However, that evidently is not funtioning properly. I hope this is something simple. Where do I begin? Any help is much appreciated. I have many other issues with the car which require my attention. So while this is near the bottom of my to-do list, it is still on it.

Any advice?
