Default Stalling / loosing revs...

Hi Fellows,

My Jag started to behave strange.. I am loosing revs upon accelerating after stopping or braking for a junction or red light. The engine is just about to stall after a hickup or three, and it starts rev'ing again. It stalled twice. When holding a steady rev during drive - no hickups. As soon as I break, the problem comes again when accelerating.

I didn't drive the car until fully varm, but turned and drove home. I have a rough idle, and suspect the idle valve/stepper motor. Can this be related or do you have other tip where to search for faults? It happened almost overnight.

Hmm, mighr have soled this one.

1. Took off and cleaned idle speed valve
2. Cleaned the stepper motor and its connection with el.spray
3. Cleaned distributor cap and leads
4. Disconnected ignition amplifier and gave connector a good clean.

No stopping or "huffing" anymore. I'm not sure but my best guess was the amplifier connection that was a bit off... Let's hope it worked permanently :-)
