Jerry is right - you just need a small flat-bladed screwdriver to replace the struts. To remove the old ones, slip the blade under the metal spring on the back of the strut end and pry it out just until it snaps into its release position. You can then pull the strut end off of the ball stud mounted to the body or trunk lid. Repeat for the other end of the strut. To install the new struts, you can usually leave the springs in their down or latched position and simply press the ends onto the ball studs until they snap into place.
