Exclamation Use this rusty Tranny Filter I just bought? 89 XJ6

My recent order of parts for my Jag just arrived. But when I opend the box I found the Tranny Filter they sent to have rust spots on it.

Should I use this?

Pics of front and back are below.

Plenty of transmission filters that I have seen have rust spots on them...

Use a clean paper towel dipped in transmission fluid and wipe of the rust. Make sure not to wipe any dirt into the filter openings and make sure that you get all loose rust particles off - the underlying surface will still look rusty, but no particles will come off. And once it is inside the transmission it will be submerged in transmission fluid - so it won't continue to rust.
