Default What is the best oil filter

On all my cars before my first jaguar I always used a mobile one or K&N oil filter on the car. For my 1988 xj6 I cant find much more than stp or bosch, I want a really high end filter. Is there a chart or something or am I stuck with crap filters.

Why not use OEM ? If you are still insist on using aftermarket , I would go for WIX if available for your ride

EBC9658 is the OEM number as I recall. Probably around$10 or so from most on-line suppliers, if you can wait. I usually order a few at a time

If I flub up and run out I'll use an AC Delco PF964 or a Bosch or a Wix or a Napa or a ......well, you get the idea :-)

Cheers

Went with wix 51231 it was the best i could find local, I really want a k&n or mobile one for it. But they dont make it so, but a 5.9 cummings disel will fit it but its to long, it hits the frame side. So that out keep it any thought coming and thanks fot the help.

Peace

Just changed my oil and filter(IT NEEDED IT BAD LOL) have you guys ever seen baked on sludge on the inside of the oil filter. It runs so much better I thought it was smooth but now its quite and smooth no more ticking I am going to take a pic of this filter when i go back out and post it. I have a feeling the oil has not been changed in years because of the low mile. I put synthetic in it if i get leaks I will just redo all the seals,I hope I dont LoL . I used 5w40 so hopefully the car will do good. I need to change the transmission oil soon I was thinking of a flush and amsoil for it. But i dont know what do you guy think.
