Default What is this thing? (1994 XJ12)

There is a rubber ??bladder?? just forward of the throttle linkage. I can collapse it with my fingers and it will affect the throttle. If I move the throttle, the ??bladder?? isn't affected. It is vacuum controlled, at least I am guessing that is a vacuum hose attached to its forward end.

Thanks for any help.

That's the vacuum servo for your cruise control.

Cheers

Thank you, Doug.

Since it is vacuum controlled and since the cruise control works flawlessly, as near as I can tell, can I conclude that the vacuum system in general is not in need of work? Or, perhaps, there are far less vacuum controlled gizmos than I imagine, so less to worry about that I am fearing.
