Speaking of AC: does anyone know where know where the AC vacuum tank is located?

I moved your post to start your own thread since your question was unrelated to the topic of the other thread. I can't recall the year and model of your Jaguar, but assuming it is an early XJ40, the climate control vacuum reservoir is probably under the battery.

On the 94MY it's located inside the passenger fender (between left inner and outer skins)
