Default Window Tinting question

Gents:
I recently had my windows tinted. I know, I know... But frankly, the car is so much more comfortable in the summer sun and I feel a little less like I'm driving in a solarium! Anyway, the film has pulled away all the way around the black edge area only on the back window. Everything else on the car is perfect. I'm taking it back in next week, and I know the shop will probably find a fix - it's a very good shop that does the cars from the nearby Merc and Lexus dealerships. I guess I'm wondering if anybody has had a similar experience that might shed light (pun apologies) on a possible solution I can share with the installers.
Thanks!
Scott

Every car i've had since i was 18 has had tinted windows, and i must say i've never had that happen.. Sounds like a botched-job.. If the shop is any good i would guess they'll re-do the window for you.. the right way..

Curious? Does your car have rear window defrosting? Reaason I'm asking is alot of the rear window defrosters are attached to rear window the same as tint film, could that be causing it to peel loose around the edges? Just a thought. Personally, a decent darkness tint makes most cars look better IMHO.

hi there i was part owner of a shop in connecticut, Tintmyridect.com
the reason for this to happen is ur car has the chrome frame on the outside of the window, in the process of tinting u need to cut the film from the outside and shrink it with a heat gun from outside. in older cars where this frame is present it could b quite a proyect because u have no room for mistake, add to that the black dot matrix (i believe u have them they are a lot of dots blending in the black to the window) still havent found out the purpose for them but anyway if not prepped properly backwindow tint will need to b replaced and dont let them remove with razor blade as it will mess up ur defrost lines, what we used to do was clean the dot matrix with a product called hi-sheen then wiped with alochol after tint was placed will ask customers to park it in the sun for 24 hrs and bring back for touch up, if that wasnt possible then we would heat it up real good with the heat gun to make sure it sticked, after 48 hours glue on the tint is pretty much dry n nothing can b done. good luck!

Thanks, guys: This really does help. Yes, do have defrost. And yes, I did leave the car in the sun on quite a hot day to get the adhesive to cure. Perhaps that blackened area just didn't receive enough prep. I will be very careful that they don't try to fix it with razor blades, and I'm hopeful they'll get it right this next time.
Cheers,
Scott
