Default xj 40 seat coversion into mk2 jag

Hi i have recently completed this conversion on my mk2 the front will fit with a little alteration to the seat brackets.

The rear however will need to be taken to a reliable trimmer to strip the leather and then cut, shape and then reweld the springs to suit the mk 2 tunnel .

Some of the coversions you see.The rear seat squab sits too high.Hense the need for a trimmer.

You will also need a little filler panel either side of the rear back panel to window.

I am thinking along the same lines. Can you give me some details. Do you have to cut out the cross member?

Default Re Mk2 xj40 seat conversion

You do not need to cut the cross member the trimmer i used cut the spring
on the rear seat squab around the tunnel.Which allows them to sit properly
you do not use the mk seat pins you will have to use the xj mount plates which screw to the body.
My trimmer them re-welded the springs he had cut/reshaped so as to retain overall strength and to prevent sagging.
also the rear needs a little persuasion to fit ie reshaping the springs and a filler panel either side.

hope this helps.

If you are going to exchange personal contact details, then forum PM (arrowed red) or forum eMail (arrowed blue) is the safest way:
