As Nix and I were leaving the gas pumps I spied the familiar profile of one of Nix's younger siblings turning into a lane ahead of us. I recognized it in spite of its unkempt appearance and generous splattering of mud.
We tried hard to catch up and meet the trio (car + 2 people) but alas, we were prevented by some interfering Japanese Brand X or other. Then I thought we might try to park close by to at least say Hello, but another of those ubiquitous Brand X imports had the slot Nix and I wanted.
So we settled for sort of close.
By the time we got settled after playing a few rounds of Parking Lot Dodgem, the occupants of this Dirty Kid had gone into the store, and as I didn't get a good look, I didn't find them.
From what I saw, the inside has that "lived in" look.
I do understand priorities though, more than you might think! At least they're Driving the car, and maybe they got caught in one of our Famous Spring Showers that make almost Instant mud puddles.
Or, like many owners of Brand X, they bought the car to drive and they Drive it!

Yup!
Wart never had a proper bath in the 7 years I drove him unless there was a good rain. After one of those, he looked pretty good!
His inside got cleaned out when the gravel was so deep it got under my feet when driving and annoyed me. But that was Wart!!
I might feel really bad for his demise if I cared anything about him, so maybe that's the case with this Jag. They just Drive it, it's Just A Car to them, and when it dies, I'll find it over in the local Pick'n'Pull, still covered in mud.

Fortunately for us enthusiasts, there are people like that out there!
It would be a lot harder and more expensive for us to keep our cars on the road, with all the little toys they come with working as intended, if these people thought like us, there would be precious little down the local pick and pull!
I hadn't thought of it that way, Andrew!
As it is, about the only Jags I might be interested (series cars) in are getting scarce as hens' teeth in these parts. Those that do hit the yard (Series 3s), are descended upon like fresh road kill in the desert. If I'm not there in the first day or 2, there's nothing left I would be interested in taking home.
