Default .002 throttle plate clarification and adjustment

1986 XJ6 Series 3 -- Seems like a dumb question, but here it goes. Do I measure the .002 clearance of the throttle at the 9 o'clock or 3 o'clock position as I am looking at the intake?
And -- I am struggling to figure out how to adjust the throttle stop. Any hints, tricks (besides letting the blood from my hands lubricate the screw as I try to get something back there) would be appreciated.

Hmmmm.

Never gave this any thought before. I would do either; should be the same result on either side. If not, something is out-of-round.

It's been years for me. I do remember swearing. Sorry I can't offer anything useful

Cheers

Assuming the butterfly is on an horiziontal axis, as in the V12 engine, 6 o clock is the correct psoition to measure the gap.
