Hi I have some experience with XJ6's many years ago. I just recentley picked up a beautiful 79 with the conversion engine. I can not get any of the windows to work. I do know one window switch is bad but the rest are good. Please help. If the master window switch on console is bad will all the windows not work? How do I know if its bad. Thanks love this forum.

 

Yea bud once you get a bad switch with the 70's model youll want to get it fixed fast becuase alot of times none of them will work until you do. Although you can wire it to a working one, but youll be lowering and raising 2 windows at once

 

Thanks I apprecitate it. So if a switch is broken but connected the rest will not work?

 

Just stepped outside to double heck. Need to check the very middle button that locks out your windows. If that switch fails then none will work. the 79 has independent switching so if 1 switch goes out for a window you should still be able to use the rest,

But I amagin e the middle switch is out or you blew the fuse to it. If this doesnt work email me back

Thanks my middle window switch wire is getting power but the switch is in about 8 pieces in my hand it just crumbled. looks like it was tried to be glued back together. Thanks Christian.
