How to fix growler caps to fit
I had the same problem with XJ40 wheels on my S1. Had to use spacers so the tires would not hit the tie rod ends. I did have to get longer lug nuts from a speciality wheel
store. You need a minimum of four complete threads holding the wheel on per each lug nut. With the new longer ones (plus the needed washers) I now have 8+ threads per
lug nut holding the wheels on in the front. They are not needed in the rear as no spacers were required.
But, I found the taking off a center cap and fitting a flat piece of plastic there, the only contact was the four plastic clips holding the growler cap in place.
I cut them off, and used RTV cement to hold the cap(s) in place. Now they are on the car without anyone having a clue how.
Before I found this out, I had removed the grease caps for more room, now the caps are back on there, but I used a hammer to flatten them as much as possible for the needed room.
