There just might be another way. First peruse other older Brit cars with 7" lamps. Some say MGA buckets work.
Next, enlarge the openings in the 5 1/4" bezels. I read a piece on that somewhere. Establish by careful measure, the amount to be removed or rolled under. Make incisions to allow removal or rolling of segments.
An older poor set might be good to practice on. I do have such a set. Pitted!, But, solid. They are 5 1/4" from a series I or II.
Should you wish, they are yours for the postage.

Check with Andrew first. I got mine thru him about 2 years back. Great mod. He recommended some Euro flat lens driving lamps for both high and low beams. His recommendation was right on. I did a posting on here somewhere regarding this mod. I have "yellow" high beams. Really sets the car off!!
