Working on brakes only to find a leak underneath. It feels like oil but seems to be coming from the steering rack.

As soon as I track down the source, I might risk actually driving it.

Still doing some paint work.

Anyone have an idea what this is? It's zip tied to one of the hoses and wasn't connected to anything.

if those are tube holes in the bottom, it looks like a winscreen washer pump. No real idea, just what it looks like to me.

Default Not a bad guess Richard.

Here is one I pulled off a series 2, at the wrecking yard.

Wow. that is far more complex than the simple black box pump in my car.
After market, yean I guess mine is.

So, if originality isn't a big issue, that is where I would look.

Most of the exterior stuff is done. It's looking better than I thought. It would. There is a lot of interior stuff to do.

Kinda off topic but...I came across these, didn't buy them, now all I can think about is buying them.

Looks fantastic. Amazing transformation. What methods and products did you use on the paint if you don't mind me asking?

The only thing I put on it was Maguires. I used a heavy-cut cleaner first with a polish second and then carnauba wax last.

+1 with Winston!! Who would have thought such a Beautiful car was hiding under all that Ugliness! What a Marvelous transformation with a bit of effort!

All I have Ever used on my car is Meguiar's Quick Detailer. But then, her paint was Pretty Good when she came to live with me.

I knew it would clean up really well but the interior now needs some attention.

Moved outside.

Got brave and took it out. Needs carb work and power steering fluid to be really drivable but I'm super happy it moves under its own power.

No major leaks.

Thanks everyone. I can't tell you how glad and lucky I feel right now. I bought this not knowing if the engine was siezed or if the ignition system was garbage. I saw something that might have gone to a scrap yard and knew it just needed a little help.

After 15 years of sitting the shiney bits took a beating. I wanted to show how I got the wheels to look a little better. This is before any metal polish.

Sorry missed this post at the time, yes it is a washer pump.

The yard had a $20 Day, all you can carry out in one go for $20. I think they were trying to have a bit of a clean up.
I walked out with my tool box plus 2 hubcaps,2 fuel pumps, 2 tail lights, 2 fuel tank caps, 2 rear seat belts, oil pressure switch, window washer pump, master cylinder, dist cap with new set of leads and oil filler cap.
Haven't used any of it yet but I reckon I got my 20 bucks worth put away for a rainy day.
